Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in San Francisco, California, USA. He passed away on October 5, 2011.
He gained part-time experience at Hewlett-Packard during his summer vacation at the age of 13. As a high school student, he participated in a summer internship at the company, where he met and hit it off with Steve Wozniak, who would later become his technical partner. In 1976, they sold the Apple 1, an early home computer.
In 1977, he founded Apple Computer with Wozniak and Mike Markkula, an Intel employee. The Apple 2 was a huge hit, and Jobs was listed on the Forbes Rich List at the age of 25. In 1984, the first Macintosh (Mac) was released. However, internal feuds began to grow around this time, and he left the company the following year. In 1985, he founded the new company NeXT, Inc., and in 1986, he acquired Lucasfilm's computer division and launched Pixar Animation Studios. The animated film "Toy Story," produced by Pixar, was a huge success, once again amassing a significant fortune. He returned to Apple in 1996. The iMac, the first Mac released after Jobs' return in 1998, became a huge hit, and he became CEO in 2000. In 2001, the company entered the music business with iTunes and the iPod, and in 2007 released the iPhone. In 2009, he took a leave of absence as CEO due to liver disease, and resigned in 2011. He passed away on October 5 of the same year at the age of 56. Jobs' death shocked the world, with Bill Gates and U.S. President Barack Obama also expressing condolences. His life has been the subject of numerous books and films, and he continues to inspire many people even after his death. During his lifetime, Jobs was fond of Japanese food such as soba noodles and sushi, and was a frequent wearer of black turtlenecks designed by Issey Miyake.
