French electronics manufacturer Netatomo is releasing a wearable bracelet called "JUNE" (12,000 yen) that measures sunlight. It connects to an iOS app (available in Japanese) and allows users to measure sunlight in real time. It also displays the amount of sunlight received each day and the times when UV rays were most intense. It notifies users when UV protection measures are necessary and offers advice based on skin type and current activity, such as SPF values, the need for hats and sunglasses, and when to seek shade. The bracelet was designed by Camille Toupet, a French jewelry designer with experience at Louis Vuitton and Harry Winston. The centerpiece, which houses a UV sensor, is removable and available in three colors: gold, platinum, and gunmetal. It fully charges via USB in 12 hours and lasts for about a month. It comes with two straps: leather and silicone. It will be available at Apple Stores on August 7th, and at concept shops, Amazon, and electronics stores on the 14th.
Netatmo was founded in 2011 as an innovation company dedicated to contributing to a better lifestyle for consumers. It develops high-quality, highly functional, and well-designed mobile and web apps, and has released the Netatmo Personal Weather Station, which measures room temperature and weather, and the Thermostat for Smartphone, an automatic temperature controller that connects to smartphones. It has won a total of three awards at the CES Innovations Design & Engineering Awards.
