To celebrate the release of "L'EAU," the newest fragrance in the "PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE" series, a talk event featuring perfumer Aurélien Guichard will be held at Midtown Roppongi in Tokyo on March 14th. The event will focus on the theme of "Perfumes as Invisible Design," exploring the skills and sensibilities of perfumers who combine over 1,000 fragrances at the molecular level to create the perfect fragrance. Nathalie Helloin Kamel of Beaute Prestige International, development manager for "PARFUMS PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE," will also participate in the event, discussing the design of fragrance through the perfume development process. Moderator Yoshiko Ikoma will be present. Applications for attendees are open on the PLEATS PLEASE website. 100 people will be invited to each of the 4pm and 19th place sessions.
Guichard was born into a family of perfumers in Grasse, France. In 2000, he graduated from the perfumery training school run by Givaudan, the world's largest fragrance manufacturer, where his father, the renowned perfumer Jean Guichard, is director. He has worked on fragrances for numerous brands, including Gucci, Kenzo, and Nina Ricci.
