PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE has released its 2014 Spring/Summer collection. The theme is "TRANSLUCENCY." The designs are inspired by various "transparencies," such as the sparkle of minerals and glass, and smoke disappearing into the air. Relaxed colors and light forms are key features. The collection includes a scarf (15,750 yen) and skirt (38,850 yen) from a series that colorfully expresses linear light with stripes, a tunic (27,300 yen) and scarf (12,600 yen) from a series that features a gingham check pattern created using a technique that transfers stripes and borders with heat during pleating, and a parka (29,400 yen), top (15,750 yen), and pants (18,900 yen) made from jersey with a matte pleating finish.

The lineup also includes items made from soft ribbed pleated material and pants with a three-dimensional silhouette created using folding techniques. The items are sold at the brand's Aoyama, Roppongi, Ginza and other street stores, as well as department stores nationwide.
