Luxury chocolate brand GODIVA held a White Day event, "GODIVA White Day 2014 ~Love needs balance." at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium on February 27th. GODIVA proposed White Day not simply as a day to return Valentine's Day gifts, but as a day for men to express their feelings to their loved ones. Entertainer Dan Mitsu, who appeared as a guest, also endorsed the concept, commenting, "It's important to have an opportunity to express your love. When confessing, I want you to include a handwritten message and be brave enough to hold my hand." When Taiko Katono, the 2010 Junon Boy Grand Prix winner and idol of hers, confessed his feelings to her while holding her hand, saying, "I want to know everything about you, I want to be with you," Dan expressed her excitement, saying, "If I say yes here, we'll be on the front page of tomorrow's newspapers. I'm happy even at the event." Godiva has developed five varieties of limited-edition chocolates, "Cube Praline," for White Day. The pralines (roasted nuts cooled, crushed, and turned into a paste) are made with premium ingredients like Uipion strawberries and Tahitian vanilla and are coated in chocolate. The colorful packaging was designed by Spanish artist Jaime Hayon, with a circus theme. A wide variety of White Day gifts are available for a limited time until March 14th, including the "Cube Praline Selection" (3 pieces for 1,365 yen, 5 pieces for 2,100 yen, 9 pieces for 3,885 yen), which contains only cube pralines, and the "Cube Praline Bear" (3 pieces for 3,990 yen), which contains heart-shaped chocolates in a heart-shaped box held by a teddy bear.
