On the 17th, Barneys New York held a press opening event at its Shinjuku store ahead of the "SUPER BARNEYS PHOTO EXHIBITION," a photo exhibition by Leslie Kee to be held at three stores in Shinjuku, Yokohama, and Kobe. After a greeting from Barneys Japan President and CEO Shinichi Uedatani, Leslie Kee and one of the subjects, celebrity Dan Mitsu, shared behind-the-scenes stories from the shoot. Dan Mitsu appeared in a tuxedo and bright red lipstick, a look seen in one of the photos. She wore a jacket directly on her bare skin, showing off a sexy and stylish look. "I've worked in women's fashion magazines, but it's rare to have such a fashionable vibe. The experience of being photographed alone against a simple background was refreshing and something that really resonated with me," she commented. "I'd always wanted to photograph Dan Mitsu, even before this project began. I think I was able to capture her in a way that no other photographer has. I was able to perfectly capture her charm," said Key. During the shoot, he wore a KENZO sweatshirt. The item was only available for three hours. "I really wanted Dan Mitsu to wear it. Both the subject and the clothing are current leaders. Photographing 'modern people' with 'modern brands' creates a new story," Key passionately stated. Dan Mitsu recalled, "Kenzo is busier than me. My schedule revolved around Kenzo." Finally, Dan Mitsu concluded, "When I was little, I looked forward to going out in my best outfit. Through this event, I realized once again how important it is to express yourself and go out wearing the clothes you love. I hope this event will help liven up the fashion industry." The photo exhibition will be held at the Shinjuku store from the 18th to September 29th, at the Yokohama store from October 5th to 14th, and at the Kobe store in November. Over 40 portraits of 22 groups, including Sayuri Kunio, Junichi Ishida, Haruma Miura, Meisa Kuroki, Yoshiko Ikoma, and Hirotada Ototake, will be on display.
