R.NEWBOLD will be launching its 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection, themed "Outsiders." A pop-up cafe will also be opening to coincide with the collection. The collection draws inspiration from the British culture and motorcycle scene of the 1950s and 1960s, represented by Steve McQueen, Marlon Brando, James Dean, and ACE Cafe London. The collection features contemporary yet classic pieces, updated with modern details and techniques from vintage motorcycles, including mod-inspired tailoring and coats, denim, and leather, and featuring a variety of silhouettes and materials. To coincide with the launch of the collection, CAFE OUTSIDERS BY R.NEWBOLD will be open at the Daikanyama T-SITE GARDEN GALLERY from September 5th to 7th. The venue will host a photo exhibition by German photographer Frank Kletschkus, who captures motorcycle scenes and races, and will also host a talk event with photographer and motorcycle fan Roland Kirishima from 3pm on the 6th.
The cafe will offer a menu that is reminiscent of Ace Cafe but is also enjoyable for women, with tea, alcoholic drinks and food served in original cups. All purchasers will receive a special coaster. The venue will also be selling a limited number of lunch bags decorated with bandanas and studs, essential for motorcycle fashion. Collaboration items with Norton, a motorcycle manufacturer based in Birmingham, UK, will also be on display ahead of their nationwide release in early October.
