Paul Smith held his Spring/Summer 2015 men's collection show in the former Commercial Exchange in central Paris. A circular runway filled with various plants showcased a collection inspired by the creative yet functional outfits worn by artists and gallerists from around the world on the opening day of the Venice Biennale, an international contemporary art exhibition. Satin jackets and jacquard knitwear featuring flowerpot patterns were paired with pajama-style satin pants for a relaxed feel. Knitwear featuring botanical, paisley, and striped motifs, as well as pop-art-style hand drawings and peeled bananas, offered a wide range of kitschy motifs. Fringed shirts and shorts reminiscent of Scottish check blankets also caught the eye. Business suits were largely absent, with the overall look featuring playful, bright, and hedonistic pieces.
