British men's shoe brand Grenson has collaborated with jeans manufacturer Edwin Europe and Paris-based Blitz Motorcycles, which produces classic custom bikes, to create motorcycle boots. The collaboration was announced in London on June 15th.
In addition to men's shoes made with traditional craftsmanship, Grenson has also been renowned in recent years for its modern lines incorporating design elements, and has attracted attention for actively releasing collaborative items with London's cutting-edge designers.
While Edwin Europe and Blitz have collaborated before, this is their first time collaborating on shoes. Blitz founder Fred Jourden commented, "We are grateful to Edwin for being the driving force behind this wonderful opportunity," demonstrating the contribution of a global brand to this collaboration that transcends borders and cultures. The boots, designed with a concept of "paying homage to classic British bikes and catering to all motocyclists," feature reinforced leather panels on both the upper and lower sections to accommodate classic British bikes with right-side gearshifts and other bikes. They're crafted with soft, scratch-resistant Horween Chromexcel leather from the United States and a breathable inner lining. The heavy commando sole not only complements the design, but also provides functionality and durability for the toughest road trips. Available in two colors, black and dark brown, the boots complement classic motocyclist styles. They're handmade by artisans at the Grenson factory in Northampton, a town in northern England. They're exclusively sold by Grenson. A reception party was held on the evening of the 15th at the Grenson store on Rams Conduit Street, a street-level shopping street lined with trendy shops. As it was during the London Men's Fashion Week, many fashion insiders came to celebrate the collaboration.
