Event Date:2022.02.11-03.20
Feb 10, 2022
French high jewelry maison Van Cleef & Arpels has established the "Van Cleef & Arpels Design Scholarship 2021" to support the graduation and completion projects of third- and fourth-year students enrolled at the Kyoto College of Traditional Crafts (Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture). Eight groups of students who submitted outstanding graduation project proposals were awarded grants of up to 200,000 yen each in October 2021 to help fund their work.

The works created by these eight groups will be exhibited at the Kyoto Traditional Crafts Museum (Karasuma Sanjo, Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto City).

The "Van Cleef & Arpels Design Scholarship 2021" aims to recognize the artistic quality, innovation, and originality of works and provide support in the final stages of their creations. The outstanding works, which passed the first round of judging by a selection committee from Kyoto College of Traditional Crafts and the second round of judging by a selection committee from Van Cleef & Arpels, are all highly original works born from free thinking and creativity, and fully demonstrate precise and meticulous traditional craft techniques.

The eight works created by the eight groups of students who were awarded the Van Cleef & Arpels Design Scholarship will be on special exhibition at the Kyoto Traditional Crafts Museum from February 11, 2022. Parts of this special exhibition will be held simultaneously with the "Kyoto College of Traditional Crafts 26th Graduation and Completion Exhibition."
