Paul Smith launches fragrance inspired by sporting passion

Aug 26, 2014

Paul Smith will release its new fragrance, "Paul Smith Extreme Sport Eau de Toilette" (30ml/4,400 yen, 50ml/6,300 yen, 100ml/8,200 yen), on September 3rd.

Based on the bergamot, geranium, tonka bean, and incense of Paul Smith's men's fragrance "Extreme Men," this fragrance has a fresh, sporty feel. Top notes of grapefruit, bergamot, and nana mint are followed by a spicy heart of black pepper, and the base notes of incense, cedarwood, and tonka bean linger on the skin for a long time.

The bottle has a simple form with a transparent screw cap and features Paul Smith's iconic multi-stripe pattern. In keeping with the image of Extreme Men, the bottle color is blue, evocative of the outdoors, and the multi-stripe also uses blue and green. The bottle and box feature an illustration of a chronograph, symbolizing the importance of time in both life and sport. Designer Paul Smith said, "I've always wanted to create a fragrance that embodies the sport I love. It's perfect for not only athletes but also men who lead active lifestyles." Paul once aspired to become a world champion in cycling, but an accident at the age of 16 forced him to give up his dream of going professional. However, his passion for sports remains unchanged, and he offers uniquely designed bicycles, sportswear, sports equipment, chronographs, and more. He has also designed leader jerseys for the Italian road cycle race, the Giro d'Italia, and the highest quality cycling apparel for British cycling apparel brand Rapha. He is also friends with professional cyclists Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish.
