This series introduces makeup tips for this fall/winter season from the 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter runway. The 14th installment features Patchy Cake Eater, a men's brand featured at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo. The men's makeup, created by Sadafumi Ito, NARS's international lead makeup stylist, is packed with this season's trends. The theme is Kenji Sawada from the late '70s to the '80s, inspired by a Japanese version of glam rock. The key is a strong eye. He applied metallic blue and brown eyeshadow to the entire eyelid with a brush, and finally roughly outlined the area around the eye with a dark eyeliner pencil and a thin brush. The key is to avoid creating an overly clean look. For base makeup, he first applied aqua gel to the entire face and eye cream to thoroughly moisturize the eyes for a natural glow, then applied face powder for a natural finish. Finally, blush and shading are applied with a large brush, moving from the temples toward the facial bone structure to tighten the contours.
A brown lip pencil is applied to the mouth, then a creamy concealer is used to tone down the color and create a matte finish. The firm cheeks and healthy-looking lips further enhance the glamorous eyes.
The lead artist is Sadafumi Ito of NARS.
