A Japanese beer garden opens on the rooftop of Shinjuku Isetan

Aug 15, 2014

A limited-time beer garden called "Yozora no Niwa" will open on the rooftop of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. Open from August 15th to September 28th, this year's theme is "Japanese." Dishes made with carefully selected ingredients will be served under the elegant light of lanterns. The menu includes the "Carefully Selected Ingredients Course" (¥3,200), which includes appetizers, a basket of vegetables, skewers, teppanyaki, noodles, and desserts. Other dishes include a la carte dishes like mizuna and Setouchi small sardines salad (¥1,200), octopus and cucumber vinegared dish (¥650), and mackerel nanbanzuke (¥850). Desserts include bamboo leaf custard rice cakes (¥400) and tokoroten (gelato jelly) (¥500). The rice dish will include "Aichi Chita Beef Garlic Rice" (¥1,000), the winner of the "NAGO1 Grand Prix." In addition to alcoholic beverages, the restaurant offers a wide selection of non-alcoholic drinks for families to enjoy. For an additional 1,800 yen, you can add an all-you-can-drink plan (120 minutes) to your carefully selected ingredients course, which includes beer, cocktails, and sake.

According to an Isetan representative, "We want you to enjoy not only the food, but also the outdoor environment itself. We also hope to add value by providing high-quality cuisine with full service." The beer garden, popular with younger generations, aims to rediscover the charm of Japanese culture by serving Japanese cuisine brimming with emotion.

Opening hours are from 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM (last food order 8:30 PM, last drink order 9:00 PM).
