On December 6th and 7th, Megumi Ogita Gallery in Tokyo's Ginza district will exhibit "objet d'art," a cube printed with Ben Eine's typography. Ben Eine is a street artist who paints graffiti in what's known as "shutter font" on various surfaces, including store shutters and public walls. He rose to fame when British Prime Minister David Cameron presented one of Eine's works to President Obama during his first visit to the United States. In 2012, he collaborated with Louis Vuitton to create a graffiti-adorned scarf. This exhibition features a collaboration with Fragile Ventures, a company that creates 3D artworks. The "E," representing Eine, is stamped on the wall in three fonts: "Shutter," "Denderloin," and "Circus." It comes in three materials: concrete, metal, and wood, and all are hand-finished.
All three types of cubes are 120mm square. The concrete one features the "shutter font" that Ain painted on shutters, the wooden one features the "circus font" used in his early works, and the metal one features the "tenderloin font."
"objet d'art" can also be purchased from the Fragile Ventures online store. All three types are priced at approximately 500,000 yen.
