Get into the New Year's mood with lucky charms and lotteries at Lumine

Dec 19, 2013

Each Lumine building will be hosting a variety of events over the New Year period, including lion dances, calligraphy, and the sale of charms and lucky bags, to get you in the New Year's mood.

LUMINE Ogikubo will be holding a Year-End Food Festival for six days from December 26th to 31st at the food stores on the first basement and first floors. For every 2,000 yen spent on the day, you can enter a raffle to win a 500 yen shopping voucher or a daily special from each shop. Limited-edition lucky bags will be available on January 2nd. Three types of lucky bags will be available, each a collaboration between a sock shop and an apparel brand, with 10 bags of each available. There will also be events on a daily basis featuring calligraphy, koto (traditional Japanese harp), Japanese dance, and suggestions for early spring makeup. The events will run until the 8th.

LUMINE Machida will be selling charms from January 3rd to 5th as part of the business support/cultural promotion project "KOKO LUMINE." The lineup includes "Happiness Charms" (500 yen), handmade by "Tohoku Grandmas," women from Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, and Miyagi Prefecture in the Tohoku region who lost their jobs due to the earthquake damage, and "Love Charms" (500 yen), designed by hospitality professionals "Luminest." Proceeds from both will be donated to relief funds for the Great East Japan Earthquake.

LUMINE Shinjuku, LUMINE Omiya, and LUMINE Yokohama will be selling New Year's fortune-telling raffles and limited-edition lucky bags. LUMINE Yurakucho will offer a wide selection of lucky bags and products from popular brands such as Cosme Kitchen and URBAN RESEARCH & ROSSO, with the theme "What you want most this year." Additionally, Ofuna Lumine Wing will host a participatory event with photographer Yosuke Imai and a lion dance performance.

In addition, the online shopping site "Illumine" will be running a campaign from January 1st where you can win fortune-telling slips, fortune-telling, and a 1,000 yen coupon.
