Laforet Harajuku's 2014 lucky bag is full of trendy "Omotenashi"

Nov 27, 2013

Laforet Harajuku's 2014 New Year's Lucky Bag is called the "O-mo-tenashi Fukuro." This year marks Laforet Harajuku's 35th anniversary, and as a milestone, this lucky bag is filled with trendy fashion items inspired by the five characters of "O-mo-tenashi," a Japanese word nominated for the 2013 Buzzword Award. The character "O" stands for "off-white" or "floral print," while the character "Mo" stands for "monotone" or "motif." The character "Te" stands for "tiered" or "gloves," while the character "Na" stands for "narrow skirt," "nylon," or "Napoleon cut." The character "Shi" stands for "shirt," "shoulder bag," or "chiffon." Many popular brands are participating in this lucky bag project, including Angelic Pretty, La Belle Etude, Metamorphose HARAJUKU, Mysty Woman, and WILD PARTY. The items inside will vary depending on the store. The store is also planning some other "hospitality" specials for the first sale of 2014. Those who line up before the store opens will receive a hot drink (New Year's Day only) and a "Take it easy!!" service coupon, and on both January 1st and 2nd, there will be Yushima Tenjin Taiko performances to create a New Year's atmosphere.
