In 2013, many fashion brands and creators once again released beautiful videos expressing their unique worldviews.
We've selected some of these works to enjoy over the New Year holidays. Our first installment is "Parisian Promnade" by French bag brand MOYNAT.
The video was directed by Mary Clerte, who has also worked on projects for Hermès and Chloé. The story follows fashion blogger Jeanne Damas as she rides a Moynat bicycle with a trunk to retrace the path of Gabrielle Rejane, one of the most iconic actresses of the Belle Époque era. Belle Époque-style illustrations create an image of travelling back and forth between present-day and past Paris.
The bag Jeanne carries in the story is Moynat's iconic "Rejane" bag. Moynat, which contributed to culture as an official supplier to the Comédie-Française in the early 19th century, was a close friend of Rejane, and is said to have named the bag he dedicated to her "Rejane."
Moynat was founded in 1849 as a brand of travel bags and accessories. The business closed in 1976, but was acquired by a private company owned by Bernard Arnault, CEO of the LVMH Group, in 2010, and opened a flagship store in Paris in November 2011. In November 2013, a pop-up shop was opened at the Isetan Shinjuku store.
