French bag brand MOYNAT will open its first pop-up shop in Japan, "Le Moynat Trunk Show," at the Isetan Shinjuku store from November 27th for approximately one month.
Le Moynat Trunk Show first opened at the Paris department store Galeries Lafayette on July 8th and is now touring five continents for a limited period of six months. The shop's design was handled by Gwenael Nicolas, a Tokyo-based interior designer who has also worked on the Louis Vuitton Ginza Namiki Dori store. The handbags are likened to luxurious Parisian sweets, with the aim of bringing out the charm of each item. The pop-up shop will feature a lineup of the brand's signature handbags, including "Pauline," "Rejane," and "Quattro." The new "Limousine" bag, created especially for the occasion, features Moynat's iconic key lock and goatskin lines and is available in a wide range of colors. Moynat was founded in 1849 as a brand of travel bags and accessories. Since 1875, it has also produced women's handbags. The brand closed its doors in 1976, but in 2010, a private company run by LVMH Group CEO Bernard Arnault acquired the brand and opened a shop in Paris in November 2011. In July, a pop-up shop was held at the Paris department store Galeries Lafayette.
