Tonight, Joel Robuchon will be in a fairy tale castle. Van Cleef & Arpels will be using projection mapping.

Dec 11, 2013

Van Cleef & Arpels will be performing projection mapping at the Joël Robuchon restaurant in Yebisu Garden Place on December 11th and 12th. The projection is scheduled to run from 5:30pm to 11pm.

This projection mapping, created by French artist Hugues Reip, is part of an event celebrating the brand's 40th anniversary in Japan. With the theme of "Fairy Castle - a castle inhabited by fairies," the project will feature a night sky twinkling with colorful stars, a giant meteorite made of rubies and emeralds, and vibrantly dancing fairies and butterflies.

A Twitter campaign will also be held at the same time. If you answer the question "What is the gracefully winged creature flying through the air in Van Cleef & Arpels' projection mapping 'Fairy Castle'?" using the hashtag "#FairyCastle," 40 people who answer correctly will be entered into a lottery to receive a non-sale illustration book, "Lucky Lines." Applications are open from December 11th to 12th. Winners will be contacted by the brand's Twitter account.

Hugues Rep is an artist who works in a variety of media, including drawing, sculpture, video, and neon. He participated in a special exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in 2008.
