Beige Alain Ducasse Tokyo to sell "original sweets" exclusively at Shinjuku Isetan

Jan 15, 2016

Beige Alain Ducasse Tokyo, a luxury French restaurant in Ginza produced by world-renowned chef Alain Ducasse, will be selling original sweets for a limited time from January 27th to February 14th at Center Park on the 4th floor of the Isetan Shinjuku main building.

Beige Alain Ducasse Tokyo is a French restaurant that was created in 2004 as a collaboration between CHANEL and Alain Ducasse. This time, Sylvain Constans, the restaurant's chef patissier, has created five sweets that represent Chanel icons as part of Isetan Shinjuku's "Chocolat Isetanation" project, which brings together fashion and chocolate sweets.

"Bouton Chanel (5 pieces)" (2,200 yen) is an assortment of dark and white chocolates shaped like the buttons on a Chanel jacket. These are usually served as after-meal sweets at the restaurant, but for this occasion they have been designed in the shapes of a perfume bottle, a matelassé, and an étoile.

The "Macaron Beige (3 pieces)" (2,000 yen) is a set of macarons, which are served in the restaurant and on the terrace and have a different flavor each season: chocolate, lemon, and raspberry. Garnished with camellia chocolate, it creates a more feminine impression.

The "Carré Chanel" (1,800 yen) is a signature dessert that has been made since the restaurant opened. It features a motif of tweed woven with threads of different textures and colors cut into a carré (square), and has a rich chocolate and hazelnut flavor.

The "Camellia Chocolat" (10cm diameter, 1,800 yen) is a fresh confection shaped like a camellia flower. Sable and gianduja-flavored mousse are covered in glaze to create a "chocolate-filled flower."

The "Matelassé" (3cm x 10cm, 1,800 yen) recreates the quilted motif of Chanel bags, using a combination of chocolate and passion fruit.

During the event, the venue will be transformed into "Le Jardin du Tweed," the rooftop terrace of the Chanel Ginza Building, creating a simple and elegant space inspired by Chanel and Alain Ducasse.
