The Japan Jewelry Best Dresser Award ceremony, given to celebrities who look best in jewelry, was held in Tokyo on the 21st. Recipients Yoshida Yo, DAIGO, and members of Momoiro Clover Z attended.
The award recognizes celebrities by generation as "the most radiant person," "the person who looks best in jewelry," and "the person we hope will continue to wear jewelry." This year, the 27th annual awards, recognized seven people: Nana Komatsu (teens), Mao Inoue (20s), Nao Matsushita (30s), Yo Yoshida (40s), Yasuko Sawaguchi (50s), Akiko Wada (60s and older), and DAIGO (male). This marks Akiko Wada's second time receiving the award, following her first win in the 40s category in 1997. The Special Award for Women was presented to Momoiro Clover Z, and the Special Award for Men was presented to Ebizo Ichikawa. Komatsu smiled and said, "I'll do my best to become a beautiful woman who suits jewelry." Inoue added, "I want to shine both as an actor and as a woman," and Matsushita added, "I want to spend my 30s beautifully and happily." Yoshida excited the audience with her comment, "Since my age is not disclosed, my manager hesitated, saying, 'I have no choice but to decline this time,' but I immediately replied, 'Really? I want to receive it.' I have no intention of changing my age, so from now on, I'd be happy if you could write me as in my 40s." DAIGO also smiled and said, "As a rock musician, I'm particular about jewelry, so I'm happy. I got married with KK the other day, and I want to continue living a sparkling life that is KRKR both in public and private." Sasaki Ayaka, who accepted the award on behalf of Momoiro Clover Z, said in her speech, "It feels like a dream to be standing here. We want Momoiro Clover Z to be a presence that makes people's hearts flutter and excited just by looking at it, like five-colored jewels." On this day alone, Sasaki was the only one wearing a dress and was specially introduced as "Sasaki Ayaka and Momoiro Clover Z." Ichikawa expressed her joy, saying, "When I got married, I went to get my own jewels, but all I got was one ruby. When I get home, I want to show it off to my family and feel superior."
