The Japan Jewelry Best Dresser Awards ceremony, given to celebrities who look best in jewelry, was held in Tokyo on January 23rd, with winners including Haruna Kawaguchi, Yuriko Yoshitaka, and Jun Matsumoto of Arashi. The awards recognize "the most radiant person," "the person who looks best in jewelry," and "the person we hope will continue to wear more jewelry" across generations and the male category. This year, the 24th annual awards ceremony, saw seven recipients: Haruna Kawaguchi (teens), Yuriko Yoshitaka (20s), Michiko Kichise (30s), Honami Suzuki (40s), Atsuko Asano (50s), Keiko Takeshita (60s and older), and Hayato Ichihara (male). Jun Matsumoto also received a special award. Haruna Kawaguchi smiled and said, "I want to work even harder to become a mature woman who looks great in jewelry and dresses." Yuriko Yoshitaka said, "I hope to become a woman who shines from within, just like jewelry."
Kichise Michiko said, "Recently, I've been so busy raising my child that I don't wear jewelry as often, but today I put the bracelet I bought for my child as a pair before he was born on him too. It makes me feel like our hearts are connected even when we're apart. I want to be a woman who shines like a diamond, even in my 40s and 50s."
Suzuki Honami shared an anecdote: "My first piece of jewelry was a pearl necklace my grandfather gave me when I was in elementary school. I still treasure it, adjusting the length as I go. For me, jewelry is a memory of my grandfather. I think this award means I need to work harder."
Matsumoto Jun also said, "I don't know if I'm the best person in the world at looking after jewelry, but I think that in Arashi, it would look best on me," which got the audience excited.
