Somarta collaboration artist Kitajiko turns Joel Duran's parfait into a female character?

May 8, 2013

Belgian chocolatier Joel Durand's Ginza flagship store is hosting an event starting May 2nd, where young Japanese artist Kitajiko has created illustrations inspired by the popular Liejois parfait. The theme of this collaboration is "a mature woman who combines dignity and elegance." Illustrations of women based on each Liejois theme will be displayed throughout the store, and women who order a Liejois will receive a free illustration card featuring the parfait's "Orange" flavor. The exhibition and distribution will run until the 31st. The project will be renewed monthly. Kitajiko, whose illustrations are reminiscent of Art Nouveau works like Alphonse M. Mucha, has collaborated with many fashion brands, including L'Artisan Perfumeur and Vogue. She also provided the graphics for SOMARTA's 2013 Spring/Summer collection.
