
The 84th PITTI IMMAGINE UOMO, the world's largest men's fashion trade fair, will be held in Florence, Italy from June 18th to 21st. This year, 1,010 brands will gather to showcase their new products in 10 sections. Of these, 370 brands from 30 countries will be exhibiting from overseas, accounting for 40% of the total. Highlights include American department store Saks Fifth Avenue, a longtime Pitti partner, and Italian men's clothing manufacturer Angelo Glasso, which will be making its first appearance. Collaborations with other industries and brands are also popular, with British designer Tom Dixon collaborating with adidas to create "adidas by Tom Dixon," and G-Star collaborating with famous brands to launch special projects. Italian brands Marina Yachting and Mazzotta Art Selection have announced a special art project. American magazine Rolling Stone has collaborated with Italian brand Vitale Barberis Canonico to create a "Style Guide for Rock & Roll Gentlemen" and to host a photo exhibition that can be enjoyed while listening to rock music. Additionally, the artist collective ACF (Art Comes First) will collaborate with Denham design director Liam Maher and Ceri Vintage to present a special project called "The Hand Graft." Also, as a special guest designer, Junichi Abe's kolor will present its Spring/Summer 2014 men's collection. Pitti Italics, a global promotional and support program for new generation designers and brands designing and manufacturing in Italy, will present men's collections from MSGM and Stella Jean, as well as women's accessories from Aquazzura. Finally, ASICS' Onitsuka Tiger x Andrea Pompilio collaboration will present its Spring/Summer 2014 collection on June 20th. Turkey was selected as this year's guest nation, and prominent Turkish brands will also be showcasing their collections. The announcement of the winners of the "WHO IS ON NEXT? UOMO" contest, aimed at discovering new talent, will also be a focus of attention. The venue's decoration theme, which changes each time, is "Vroom Pitti Vroom." With motorcycles as the central focus, the event will showcase global biker style, lifestyle, fashion, and accessories. Pitti also emphasizes digital strategy, allowing registered buyers to visit online exhibition booths on the multilingual official website for one month after the event.
