CFDA Launches New Shopping Experience with Google+

Oct 12, 2013

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has launched "Shop the Hangout," a service that utilizes Google's new shopping platform, "Google+ Hangouts On Air (HOA)," to enable designers and consumers to connect more deeply and enjoy the shopping experience.

The CFDA describes the service as a fusion of social media and e-commerce. Designers and retailers will introduce their products via video chat. Consumers will be able to view products curated and recommended by the organizers and then enjoy online shopping. On October 3rd, fashion designer and CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg used the service to introduce the latest trends.

Rebecca Minkoff will also launch on October 10th, followed by Rag & Bone on the 15th and Rachel Zoe on the 29th.
