Louis Vuitton has released a limited edition of its "sc bag," a collaboration with film director Sofia Coppola, at the venerable Paris department store Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche. The idea for the sc bag dates back to 2009, when Sofia visited the Louis Vuitton atelier in Asnières and commissioned an original design. The design was inspired by existing models like the Speedy and Keepal. This limited edition bag is crafted from cobalt-colored cashmere calfskin. It features a vibrant red-violet trim hand-painted by leather artisans and a matching lining that is visible when the bag is opened. Available in two sizes, the bag is priced at 2,820 euros (approximately 380,000 yen). To coincide with the release, Bon Marché's windows will be showcasing special displays designed by Sophia, including a "giant peony and deer," "cherries," and "balloons," until October 26th.
