Louis Vuitton is holding an immersive exhibition, "Timeless Muses," at the Tokyo Station Hotel until the 23rd. The exhibition highlights the ties between the house and the women who have had long-standing ties with it or who have served as inspiration for its products and collections, including Empress Eugenie de Montijo, the architect Charlotte Perriand, the writer Françoise Sagan, Catherine Deneuve, the model Kate Moss, and the film director Sofia Coppola. The venue features brand archives, a statue of Kate Moss modeled after Buddha by sculptor Marc Quinn, and architectural models by Charlotte Perriand. Digital signage also features portraits of the muses that appear when viewed through a mask handed to the attendees at the entrance. Atsunori Higashiichi of creative design firm A4A, which produced the event, commented, "For the party and exhibition, themed on a 'masquerade ball across the ages,' we created special Louis Vuitton masks using a custom-developed projector and polarized glasses. By peeking through the masks, visitors can suddenly see a world of images emerge from the seemingly pure white light, creating a magical space." Louis Vuitton is celebrating its 35th anniversary in Japan. On the 13th, the brand reopened its Matsuya Ginza store, the largest in Japan.
