Since becoming a star actress in the "Harry Potter" series, Emma Watson has also been attracting attention as a fashion icon, appearing as an advertising model for "Burberry."
The film "Bling Ring," in which she stars, directed by Sofia Coppola, was released in the US in mid-June, and the "Valley Girl" fashion worn by the British actress has been attracting attention.
The term "Valley Girl" was coined in the early 1980s to refer to fashion-conscious teenage girls living in the San Fernando Valley, an upscale residential area on the outskirts of Los Angeles. Today, the term is synonymous with California girls who wear designer clothing. The film is based on a real-life incident that occurred in 2009, when a group of teenage thieves, the "Bling Ring," allegedly broke into the homes of celebrities like Paris Hilton, Megan Fox, and Lindsay Lohan and stole designer bags, dresses, jewelry, and more worth a total of ¥300 million. The film was shot on location at the mansion where Paris lived at the time, and the victims' wardrobes were recreated. The closets, filled with expensive luxury items, were reportedly filmed with the cooperation of brands like Dior, Chanel, and Dolce & Gabbana. The film is scheduled for release in Japan in December. At the premiere screening held ahead of the film's release, the dress worn by Emma Watson was also a hot topic. At the Los Angeles premiere on June 4th, she wore a Chanel tweed dress and clutch bag, and at the New York premiere on the 11th, she wore a deep V-neck little black dress with a Ferragamo clutch and Christian Louboutin pumps.
