Louis Vuitton reopened its Matsuya Ginza store on the 13th. The renovation expanded the store from the first and second floors to the first through third floors, making it the largest store in Japan. The first floor houses women's and men's leather goods, the second floor houses women's ready-to-wear and shoes, and the third floor houses men's items. The third floor houses the "Writing Universe" stationery collection, which Louis Vuitton is now offering at its third store after its Paris and Munich stores. To commemorate the reopening, the new "W Series" bag collection (priced from ¥401,100 to ¥561,750) with a three-section body resembling the letter "W" was released early. It will be available at other stores from the 27th. The store's exterior was designed by architect Jun Aoki, while the interior was designed by architect Peter Marino. The exterior, which stretches from the third floor to the eighth floor, is designed with "Soft Damier," a soft curved version of the brand's iconic Damier pattern. When the sun sets, the edges of the pattern glow with built-in lighting. For the second floor walls, Marino has used eel leather, which is also used in other Louis Vuitton stores. This is the first time that white eel has been used.
