The "Nishi-Shinjuku Machiguruumi Project," a joint effort by surrounding buildings and businesses, will be holding the "Illumination Museum 2013," which will decorate the entire Nishi-Shinjuku area with Christmas lights from November 18th to December 25th (some decorations will be installed in February next year).
On the first day, the 18th, the illuminations at Shinjuku I-LAND, Shinjuku Center Building, Shinjuku Nomura Building, Shinjuku Park Tower, and Shinjuku Mitsui Building will all be lit up simultaneously starting at 5:00 PM. Keio Plaza Hotel, Park Hyatt Tokyo, Hyatt Regency Tokyo, and Hilton Tokyo will be showcasing illuminations and Christmas campaigns that create a sophisticated atmosphere, and Santa Claus from Finland will be visiting Odakyu Department Store on December 14th.
The "Nishi-Shinjuku Machiguruumi Project," launched in the spring of 2005 with the goal of making Nishi-Shinjuku a more work-friendly area, is an area revitalization organization formed by companies that own and operate office buildings in the high-rise district. The Christmas illuminations began on November 14th of the same year, and this year marks the 9th time. Nishishinjuku, which offers lectures on wine, cooking, and more, is also being held, and a "Let's take beautiful photos of the sparkling Nishi-Shinjuku! Illumination Photography Course (tentative title)" is scheduled to start at 3pm on December 7th at Shinjuku Center Building.
