Kintetsu Department Store has completed a major renovation of its fashion building "Hoop" in Abeno, Osaka (1-2-30 Abenosuji, Abeno-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture), which has been underway for about two years, and will reopen on April 25th.
The main target is sophisticated men and women in their late 20s to 30s. In addition to the traditional high-end fashion, the store has expanded its selection of miscellaneous goods and food, and more than 70% of the 56 sections have been renovated. 34 shops are new and 8 have been renovated. Also opening on the 25th are tart specialty store "Quil Fait Bon," its second Osaka store, select shop "FREAK'S STORE," which is making its first foray into Western Japan, lifestyle shop "SALON adam et rope," and New York bag brand "Manhattan Portage." To commemorate the building's full renovation, the Fairtrade x Hoop and Special Weeks will be held from May 1st to 14th in collaboration with university students from the Fairtrade Student Network. The pop-up shop, Love & Sense, will offer fair trade items such as the "Tagua Brooch" (¥6,264), made from seeds from plants native to South America, and the "Pull Tab Medium Shoulder Bag" (¥19,440), crafted by Brazilian women using aluminum can pull tabs. There will also be a fair trade product shopping bingo event at MUJI and Soup Stock Tokyo. A talk show featuring Maggie, a model who appears in magazines such as ViVi, will also be held on May 4th. Hoop, which opened in 2000, will undergo a phased renovation to coincide with the grand opening of the Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store in March. The stores will work together to fulfill their roles in line with their respective store concepts: Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store's "A town-like space where things, events, and people meet," Hoop's "A new self-style editing center for adults," and and's "Urban Living Materials Center," with the aim of increasing the appeal of the Abeno/Tennoji area.
