"60's Resort Style Brigitte Bardot" is an event being held at the West Park Decade on the second floor of Isetan Shinjuku, showcasing sandals, beach dresses, and other items related to her beloved resort destination, Brazil, with actress Brigitte Bardot as the muse. The event runs until May 11th.
The French actress was celebrated as one of Europe's most iconic sex symbols of the 20th century. The theme of the event is what kind of fashion Brigitte would wear if she visited the Brazilian resort town of Buzios. The collection features feminine, relaxed, and resort-inspired items.
Sand by SAYA, a luxury flip-flop brand developed by New York-based Japanese designer Saya, offers ethnic-inspired sandals (priced from 6,500 to 13,000 yen) featuring intricately designed handmade parts with starfish and floral motifs.
"Brigitte Bardot," founded by a French female designer and "Bardomania" (fans who revere Brigitte almost like a myth) out of respect for her and a passion for fashion, offers items that capture Brigitte's glamor and natural, unpretentious style, such as T-shirts printed with Brigitte's face (10,000-12,000 yen), see-through sleeveless shirts with colorful patterns (28,000 yen), and short denim pants accented with daisies.
"Cecilia Prado," created by a Brazilian designer, offers all handmade items in typically Brazilian colors, such as soft summer knit sweaters (24,000 yen), cardigans (28,000 yen), and skirts (28,000 yen).
