Fashion designer Kosuke Tsumura's solo exhibition "RECOMBINATION" will be held at Spiral Garden in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, from May 10th to 21st. Tsumura continues to rethink the meaning of everyday life and the function of fashion, focusing on the voids created by layers of objects and actions. The exhibition will feature a collection of works utilizing "PUZZLE WARE," a concept he invented in 2009 inspired by cell division. The pieces are created by combining multiple pieces with slits. This time, Tsumura will use a variety of materials, including hanging scrolls, oil paintings, national flags, and failed paintings—objects and information that have been detached from their cultural and historical contexts and found adrift—to create puzzle wear pieces. The exhibition will also feature a variety of works recombined with these pieces. Additionally, a "Puchi Puti Dome Making" workshop will be held on the 11th, 15th, and 18th from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, where participants will connect "Puchi Puti Tianguru" pieces to create domes and huts.
