NEMIKA, a concept store offering a lifestyle that combines fashion, art, and roses, will be holding the "NEMIKA ART FAIR" at its Hiroo and Tamagawa stores from May 18th to 31st. Held annually in spring and fall, the "NEMIKA ART FAIR" promotes a lifestyle with art and roses through collaborations with various artists. This spring's fair will feature product designer Norihiko Terayama as a guest, showcasing an original rose-themed piece and a unique spatial display. In addition to the exhibition and sale of Terayama's new works, there will also be special sales of his signature 30cm flower ruler "f,l,o,w,e,r,s" (2007), the bubble clock "awaglass" (2011), made with the same techniques as an hourglass, and the driftwood sculpture "Crust of the Polygon" (2016). Terayama was born in Tochigi Prefecture in 1977. After studying design in Japan, he went to study at the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands. During his time there, he trained at Studio Richard Hutten, a leading Dutch product designer, and at MVRDV, a Rotterdam-based architectural group. After returning to Japan in 2008, he launched his own product brand, studio note. He currently focuses on product design, but is also active in a wide range of fields, including interior design, store artwork, and client design. Soup Stock Tokyo's Etica Omotesando store has a permanent exhibition of baby's breath sculptures.
