Ginza Six Gourmet Report! The second basement floor is packed with food and sweets that are new to Tokyo and Japan [A new standard for gifts and home parties]

Apr 16, 2017
Ginza Six, located in Ginza 6-chome, will hold its grand opening on April 20th. This commercial facility, home to 241 global brands, also boasts a selection of restaurants, cafes, and souvenir sweets. We'll introduce the gourmet information for Ginza Six, finally revealed at the preview held on the 14th.

The first gourmet report starts on the second basement floor of Ginza Six. We'll introduce five shops offering salads and deli items, perfect for gifts, souvenirs when you visit Ginza, and sweets to bring to a home party.

Marlow, a pudding specialty shop that serves baked puddings handmade daily in Hayama, is opening its first Tokyo location. They offer beaker-style puddings (10 varieties, starting from 600 yen each), made with fertilized eggs from free-range chickens raised in the Nasu Highlands and fresh cream from Hokkaido. At the opening on April 20th, Ginza Six will be offering exclusive items, including "Fresh Cream Pudding in a Ginza Beaker" and "Royal Milk Tea Pudding" (limited to around 300 of each per day), which depict the Ginza cityscape circa 1970.

"meat&green Shunjukusei" is a sandwich and deli shop that advertises "sandwiches you'll want to post on Instagram," and is likely to be popular with women for its gorgeous appearance and menu full of vegetables. They will be selling the "Moedan Sandwich" made with aged fermented meat that has been aged for over 140 days, and the "Bouquet Salad" (set price 1,880 yen) that combines organic vegetables with enzyme dressing. Canned fermented aged meat and enzyme dressing will also be available in stores. They will have a variety of dressings with unique flavors such as carrot and orange, avocado and kiwi.

If you love sweets, check out two stores from Paris that are opening in Japan for the first time: "PHILIPPE CONTICINI" and "Viennoiserie JEAN FRANCOIS." "Philippe Conticini" is a cafe and boutique complex run by patisserie master Philippe Conticini, selling their signature dessert, "Kouign Tatin" (450 yen), a tarte tatin stuffed inside a kouign amann, and three limited-edition mousses (from 650 yen each). "Viennoiserie Jean-François," a specialty pastry shop, sells around 30 kinds of viennoiserie, including Danish pastries, supervised by an MOF award-winning chef. Must-try items are the limited-edition "Danish French Toast" (280 yen) and the "W Cheesecake Danish" (380 yen), which features two layers: baked and rare.
