The latest edition of Japan's first Portland guidebook has been published in the US. A limited number of copies will be sold first in Japan.

"TRUE PORTLAND: The Unofficial Guide for Creative People Annual 2017" (English version), produced by Media Surf Communications Inc., will be available in Japan on May 26th, ahead of the nationwide release, in limited quantities.

Focusing on the ever-changing Portland, known as a leading city in cultural diversity, this book is the 2017 edition of "True Portland: The Unofficial Guide for People Creative City Portland Annual 2014," the first specialized guidebook published in the United States in 2014. As this new edition will be released nationwide, it will be published entirely in English by Portland-based publisher Hawthorne Books & Literary Arts.

As with previous editions in the series, the book offers suggestions for enjoying the local area based on the verbs "EAT," "DRINK," "GET INSPIRED," "RUN," "MAKE," "DIG," "THINK," and "LOVE," as well as the latest information on Portland. In addition, the author has updated "ITINERARY," in which nine groups of people well-versed in various cultures propose 48-hour itineraries. Basic local information and area maps have also been updated, making this a book that can be enjoyed by both first-time visitors and frequent travelers.
