The "Plant Hunter Seijun Nishihata: World Plant Patterns" exhibition, focusing on botanical patterns, will be held from September 14th to 19th at the Event Square on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza. Patterns of plant branches, leaves, and trunks are used as motifs in a variety of everyday life, including architecture, fashion, interior design, and tableware. The exhibition will showcase plants carefully selected by Seijun Nishihata from his rare collection of thousands of species, collected during his travels across Japan and dozens of locations around the world. Reflecting on the deep relationship between plants and humans since ancient times, the exhibition will explore the beauty and depth of the shapes of plants themselves through the theme of "botanical patterns." Also on display will be a dry landscape garden featuring botanical patterns, which Seijun Nishihata personally produced for the exhibition. A commemorative talk event will be held at 2:00 PM on the opening day, September 14th, at the Phoenix Hall on the 2nd floor of Ginza Phoenix Plaza.
