Asami Kiyokawa's new solo exhibition "TOKYO Monster" is being held. Harajuku fashion from the 90s becomes a monster.

Sep 18, 2014

Parco Museum will host artist Asami Kiyokawa's solo exhibition, "TOKYO Monster," from November 29th. The exhibition features works inspired by Harajuku fashion of the 1990s. The content is a combination of photographs that strongly reflect the street culture of the time, with Kiyokawa's unique interpretations. The "TOKYO Monsters," whose faces feature embroidered art, express the emotions and energy of young people dressed in eccentric fashion. Approximately 60 new pieces will be on display at the venue, which will run until December 15th. During the exhibition, talk events and autograph sessions will be held, and related books will also be available for purchase. Asami Kiyokawa is an artist known for her collection of photographs embroidered with art, including "Bijo Saishu," a collection of her work. In addition to her fine art, she has also worked on a wide range of projects, including packaging design for COSME DECORTE and bottle design for LUX.
