Bijutsu Techo's October issue features NIGO auction. Also featuring Gaga's beloved Jeff Koons.

Sep 18, 2014

The October issue of the monthly art magazine Bijutsu Techo (Bijutsu Shuppansha) features Jeff Koons, an artist beloved by Lady Gaga.
Koons created a large sculpture modeled on Lady Gaga for the cover of her album "Art Pop," and in November 2013, he achieved the highest price ever paid by a living artist at auction. However, he was labeled a "disliked figure" at the Koons retrospective held in New York.
The October issue delves into the true character of Koons through an introduction to works from the retrospective, a recent interview with Koons himself, reviews of his retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the "Jeff Koons" exhibition, and an interview with curator Jeffrey Deitch, his close friend for over 30 years.
Also featured is a direct interview with creative director NIGO(R), who will be holding an auction of his collection in Hong Kong. The auction name is meaningful, "NIGO(R) Only Lives Twice." It appears that the catalog has also been completed ahead of the main event on October 7th.

Other content includes a photo session in collaboration with photographer Leslie Kee and KENZO.
