An event titled "My Cup of Favor—One Cup of Coffee Connects the Future" will be held from September 10th to 16th at the Food Collection on the basement floor of Isetan Shinjuku.
The event was organized with the desire to allow both coffee novices and advanced drinkers to experience the depth and true flavor of coffee, and many baristas and roasters who support the project's purpose will be participating. In addition to selling each brand's signature beans and drip coffee, products prepared specifically for the event will also be on display.
The highlight will be Hidenori Izaki of Maruyama Coffee, the 2014 World Barista Champion. He believes, "Coffee is made by people. I want to cherish the entire story, from producers, buyers, exporters, and roasters to baristas brewing it and delivering it to customers," and will be at the venue every day during the event to brew espresso himself. Also of interest is the single-origin espresso by Masataka Noshiro, president of NOZY COFFEE, who says, "I want to offer a new coffee experience using three types of beans that evoke red, white wine, and champagne." This specialty shop offers only single-origin espresso, without any blending, allowing customers to appreciate the subtle differences between regions and farms. Coffee lovers are encouraged to try it for themselves to experience the unique flavors. Other options include an original blend from Mojo Coffee and Nordic-style aeropress coffee from Fuglen. There will also be a variety of dishes and sweets available, including original sandwiches from Toranomon 3206 (600 yen) and coffee cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery (400 yen). Enjoy your coffee at the standing tables located in the center of the venue.
