Shakes, smoothies, sundaes... A collection of seasonal, artistic sweet drinks that you can enjoy twice, both in appearance and taste!

Apr 27, 2017

Couture Aoyama (Minami Aoyama), Franz & Evans London Omotesando (Jingumae), Gorilla Coffee Shibuya (Jinnan), and Roppongi Hills (Roppongi) will be offering social media-worthy "visual kei sweets" for a limited time.

From May 1st, Couture Aoyama, a Paris-based coffee shop that relocated and renovated in 2016, will be serving a completely plant-based "Botanical Fruit Smoothie" (980 yen including tax), made with a base of frozen banana and coconut milk, combined with chia seeds, espresso jelly, and pink fruit jelly. Made with two pink grapefruits and single-origin coffee beans, this sweet drink combines a contrast of sweetness and sourness with a touch of bitterness. Also, starting on the same day, the London-based artsy deli-café Franz & Evans London Omotesando branch will be selling a shake inspired by the traditional British dessert "Eton Mess" (1,580 yen, tax included). This luxurious dessert drink features a base of raspberry gelato and yogurt ice cream, topped with a meringue pavlova, strawberry compote, and plenty of fresh strawberries. The decorative "Empire Berry Sundae" (1,080 yen, tax included), already available at the Shibuya branch of Gorilla Coffee, a coffee shop from Brooklyn, New York, combines yogurt ice cream and mixed berries with cheesecake toppings, whipped cream, Oreos, and blueberry sauce. The Roppongi branch, opening on April 27, will also be introducing the "Empire Matcha Sundae" (1,080 yen, tax included), inspired by the Mori Garden in Roppongi. The dessert is based on matcha ice cream and topped with cream cheese, kiwi, blackberries, and Oreos, making it a visually appealing treat.
