Ami Alexandre Matussi opens first Japanese store in Omotesando

Aug 10, 2015

AMI ALEXANDRE MATTIUSSI will open its first flagship store in Japan, AMI OMOTESANDO, on the first floor of GYRE in Omotesando, Tokyo (5-10-1 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) on September 12th. The design of this first directly managed store in Japan was handled by architect STUDIO KO, who also designed the brand's three Parisian stores. STUDIO KO also worked on the renovation of the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles and the residence of businessman Pierre Berge. The Omotesando boutique is based on the directly managed store that opened in Saint-Honoré, Paris in June this year, and is said to incorporate the unique architectural environment of Tokyo into its design. The interior materials incorporate a variety of different textures, including marble, rattan, cork, green plants, and brass rails hanging from the ceiling. Additionally, vintage furniture that evokes a Parisian feel and atmosphere will adorn the floor, and by making full use of light, space, and texture, the space will be finished with a modern, comfortable feel that is characteristic of Ami Alexandre Matussi.

In addition, limited items will be released to commemorate the opening. The lineup is planned to include printed shirts, laptop pouches, and knitwear.
