TOGA VIRILIS has unveiled its 2016 Spring/Summer collection. This collection draws inspiration from the essence of "Ban-kara," a style popular among students in Japan during the Taisho and Showa periods, and iconic Japonism, such as the embroidery on "Sukajan" jackets, which were created as souvenirs for American soldiers stationed in Japan. The collection also features an exquisitely balanced mix of marine and Moroccan-African styles. Characteristic pieces include craft-like embellishments like tape and fringe, and colorful prints in red and green. Scarves reminiscent of the traditional "Ban-kara" hand towels worn around the waist, along with TOGA's iconic metal accessories, are essential styling additions. Sheer knitwear, layered with layers of fabric, and embroidered shirts, each slightly sheer, add a delicate touch. New pieces include suits with out-pocket jackets and baggy pants, a signature marine look, as well as modified sailor jackets and panel prints.
