The "'YOSOOU' DOWN RECYCLE & REBORN COLLECTION - by Green Down Project" down recycling project will be held at PASS THE BATON GALLERY in Omotesando Hills from August 20th to September 13th.
Although down can be recycled, there is a shortage of old down, making recycling difficult. This project, a collaboration between PASS THE BATON GALLERY and YOSOOU, a stretch down brand celebrating its fifth anniversary with the 2015-16 AW collection, will collect unwanted downwear and futons at PASS THE BATON GALLERY and at a YOSOOU directly managed store scheduled to open on September 5th. The collected down will be recycled.
Items eligible for collection include down and feather outerwear, futons, and sleeping bags with a down content of 50% or more. The collected down will be washed and dried through the Green Down Project, a general incorporated association that promotes down recycling, and reborn as raw materials for new feather products. From 2016 onwards, Yosoo and Pass the Baton plan to use the raw materials to create collaborative items.
In addition, anyone who brings unwanted downwear or bedding to the Pass the Baton Gallery will receive a 1,000 yen shopping voucher that can be used exclusively at Yosoo's new directly managed store, which opens on September 5th. During the period, the Pass the Baton Gallery will also be exhibiting and selling Yosoo's archive items.
