
The annual autumn event in Daikanyama, Tokyo, "Sarugaku Festival" will be held at Daikanyama Hillside Terrace on October 9th and 10th.
The "Sarugaku Festival" will feature numerous stalls and workshops by Hillside Terrace and nearby shops, offices, creators, embassies, and more. This year's highlight will be the haunted house "Bakeraku," hosted by Masamichi Toyama of Smiles Co., Ltd., the company behind Soup Stock Tokyo and PASS THE BATON. In addition to an installation supervised by Professor Kosuke Tsuyama of Musashino Art University, a stellar lineup of artists, including Akira Minagawa of mina perhonen, KIGI, PARTY, Tamae Hirokawa, and Yuima Nakazato, will also feature special works using mannequins based on the motif of "modern Japanese ghosts." Also, from 2pm on the 10th, there will be a "Bake-Onna/Bake-Men Contest" with Tsumura Kosuke, Toyama Masamichi, and Nakazato Shuko as judges.
In addition, a bar called "Urameshi-ya" will open inside Snack GRAPH in Building C. Tanaka Kai of The OPENBOOK in Shinjuku Golden Gai and Nomura Yuri of eatrip have collaborated to offer haunted house-themed food and drinks. Participation is free for both events.
The logo design is by Kitagawa Issei, the photography is by Niitsubo Takehide, the music and song selection is by Shibuya Keiichiro + Tateishi Mikito, and the video is by Higashiichi Atsunori (A4A).
