Commemorating the 120th anniversary of the death of William Morris, a designer who had a profound influence on modern design, a special exhibition titled "PURE MORRIS, PURE LIVING!" - Encountering William Morris Today - will be held at Daikanyama Hillside Forum from October 5th to 7th.
The exhibition features the new collection "PURE MORRIS" by MORRIS & Co., the British fabric and wallpaper brand that inherited the Morris Company, which returns to the origins and essence of Morris's designs and combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. The exhibition will feature new works that revive Morris's iconic designs in a contemporary form, incorporating the essence of Morris's design philosophy of "simplicity of life."
The display styling was handled by interior stylist Yumi Nakata. Other exhibits include new works by cartonnage artist Kiyoka Koda, who uses Morris fabrics, and works by quilters Shizuko Kuroba and Quilt of Heart. There will also be a limited-time shop stocking cut fabrics, wallpaper, cushions, stationery, and more.
