Blue Bottle Coffee's fifth store in Japan will open on October 28th in Nakameguro (3-23-16 Nakameguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo). Based on the theme of "nurturing coffee lovers," the store not only features a cafe space but also a training space and a workshop space for activities like cupping. Using beans roasted at the Kiyosumi Shirakawa Roastery and the cafe's own roastery, the store will carefully brew each cup of coffee. Taking advantage of the land and space, the store will also propose new ways to enjoy coffee through new connections and experiences born from various collaborations. For this opening, the store is collaborating with Citizens of Humanity, a premium denim brand from Los Angeles. To celebrate the opening, a photo exhibition featuring "HUMANITY MAGAZINE," a free magazine published by Citizens of Humanity, will be held in the workshop space from the 28th to the 30th. The exhibition will feature interviews and photographs of Blue Bottle Coffee founder James Freeman, as well as portraits of artists featured in the latest issue of HUMANITY MAGAZINE, including Alicia Keys, Quincy Jones, and Metallica, as well as people featured in archive issues, such as Yoko Ono, Courtney Love, and Anthony Kiedis. A talk event featuring James Freeman and HUMANITY MAGAZINE's creative director, Gerard Friedman, will also be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the 26th. To commemorate the opening, a limited-edition Blue Bottle Coffee and Citizens of Humanity collaborative tote bag (¥2,500) will be sold, with only 100 bags available. Nakameguro cafe staff will also be wearing Citizens of Humanity denim shirts to greet customers.
