The "CLASSIC FURNITURE COLLECTION 2016 - A Place Where Pleasant Shapes Gather" event, showcasing Scandinavian vintage furniture and tableware, is being held at Nordic Form on the 5th floor of Living Design Center OZONE in Shinjuku, Tokyo, until December 26th. Nordic Form, which proposes Scandinavian lifestyles through classic furniture, hosts the annual "Classic Furniture Collection." This year, the 17th edition of the event was carefully curated with a female perspective in mind, bringing together over 100 attractive vintage items, including pieces by Hans J. Wegner, a designer who is also popular in Japan. The lineup includes small desks known as "ladies' writing desks," extendable dining tables and nesting tables perfect for large dinner parties, and a variety of other items exuding a gentle, feminine touch, from sewing tables—items that Danish women of the time would use for their entire lives—to small sofas, cabinets, and chests. Furthermore, vintage accessories will be available, from Royal Copenhagen Christmas plates to plates from the 1950s and 1960s that are said to be difficult to obtain. 20 plates from Bing & Gröndahl, the makers of the original year plates, will also be on sale.
