Pragmata, an art gallery in Hatchobori, Tokyo, is hosting a pop-up installation at Julian David's flagship store (2-7-15 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) through November 15th. This is Pragmata's second installation at the store. Inspired by manga and anime, the exhibition, titled "Graphic Stories," showcases ceramic works by ceramic artists Keiichi Tanaka and Atsushi Shimada. Tanaka, whose work is always conscious of everyday use, will feature vases inspired by the sight of tools and implements hanging on the walls of old houses and farmhouses; tableware designed for everyday use, both for ease of use and aesthetic appeal; and white-glazed vessels inspired by the soft, smooth texture of faience, a ceramic craft popular in Europe from the 15th to 16th centuries.
