The "Kagoshima Mutsumi Design Exhibition," an exhibition by ceramic artist Kagoshima Mutsumi, is being held from October 22 to November 15 at the Doinel shop in Kita-Aoyama, Tokyo.
The exhibition began in 2013, inspired by the ceramic artist Kagoshima Mutsumi's belief that the appeal of his designs lies in his designs. This fourth exhibition marks the artist's first collaboration, showcasing works in a new field for the artist, including geometric shapes unrelated to ceramics and designs on traditional sweets. The exhibition features a collection of alphabet designs directed by art director Maeda Kei, linen wrapping cloths produced by Finnish textile manufacturer LAPUAN KANKURIT, and a collaboration with dried sweets made by artisans at Suzukake, a Japanese confectionery shop in Hakata, Fukuoka. These sweets will be the official souvenirs of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine from January 2017.
In addition, in line with Kagoshima Makoto's desire for people to enjoy not only his works and products but also the space itself, there will be live painting of designs on the walls and windows of the venue on October 22nd and 23rd during the period.
